My good friend Allison was in town this week and it was just plain lovely. We hung out all day for two entire days. She came early enough to join James and I on our morning walks, and then during James's first nap we caught up over breakfast in the shade on the patio.
Then we did little activities. One day we went to Ikea, and one day we went to Tanners Park. Allison had such good memories of it as a child she asked if we could go back. Um, a park date? Yes! Of course!
Unfortunately, all the really neat playground equipment they had there when I was growing up as all been removed and "updated" with new stuff. That really sucks, because Tanners Park was wonderful and different years ago. Now it is kind of like all the other parks out there.
But that said, we had such a good time. And James adores Allison. He was on his best behavior the entire two days (not a single fuss or cry) and he loved playing with an extra playmate on all the slides, steps, and swings.
We also had a picnic lunch in the park with a wonderful life long friend. Totally awesome.
These two seemed to have a lot of fun together, as you can see.
The slide rocked. As did the swing.

That girl scout photo is awesome! Reminds me of the phrase about "silver and gold;" lifelong friends are the BEST!
