Helping

James is "into" everything these days. He wants to help. He wants to learn. He asks "up" whenever we are cooking in the kitchen, and hasn't let E cook with two hands for at least three months.

He wants to see what's going on. To help mix, to add the spices, and help Dada flip pancakes.

Finally I decided to pull a few kitchen chairs up to the island the other day. E and I let James go to town mixing the flour and adding the milk. I even helped him crack an egg.

He loved it.

I think we have a little chef on our hands.
