This morning

Last night it snowed. A lot. Biggest snow fall of the year.

So first thing this morning I was bound and determined to get outside and shake off all the branches on the delicate little limbs of our trees. Only problem? I have a toddler that couldn't stay inside alone while I was out.

So I put his boots on over his jammies. I pulled a hat over his head and put his winter coat on. And, as I stepped out the door I decided to grab my camera. (Mostly because last night I was kicking myself for not getting it. The snow was falling in fast huge flakes and I brought James outside to see it. He squealed and looked to the sky. Big flakes caught in his lashes. Be blinked and smiled the most perfect beautiful little smile I've ever seen. Then I showed him how to open his mouth to catch the falling snow, and yea, it was pretty much perfect. And I didn't catch a single moment with my camera.)

James expertly tromps through the 15" or so of fresh fallen snow. I was surprised he didn't fall over.

After a bit I tried to tell him to walk where the tire tracks were (and the snow was packed down). This is the reaction I got for my suggestion. Notice the lack of tears.

Lots of the white stuff.
And the reaction I got when I told him we weren't going for a walk, and to please come back home.
Cute little baby footprints.
