Juliet's first farmhouse visit

This is big. Monumental even. Juliet Clara visited the farmhouse for the first time on Sunday. Why monumental? Well the farmhouse has been in E's family for 250 years. His great great great grandparents built a log cabin on the property, and then followed it with a two room stucco house. Those two rooms got added to, a bathroom and real kitchen was built and even plumbing and heating was added.

No longer is it a working farm, like it once was, but it is still a charming little home on the edge of a small town in Central Utah. James has been going to the farmhouse since he was one month old! (Full post here). It was high time that we packed up both kiddos and let Juliet experience the joy that is known as the farmhouse.

The BEST thing about the farmhouse is a good nap on the lawn, in the shade, on a hundred year old quilt. Yep. Dadda rested and the two kiddos had none of it, they were too excited to be there.
James loves playing forest. He asks to play all the time. What does forest involve? Getting into a tree or near trees and then playing. Rules are simple, but it keeps him entertained for quite some time.
Really, E and I could rest on the quilt all day long.

The view from our spot in the shade.
Had to get some photos with each parent for the first farmhouse visit. Here is my photo of James and I on his first visit.
 Sweet girl.
Later in the afternoon after E and James had some quiet time. We decided to not force a nap, which was a first, so instead E and James watched a movie for awhile in the cool dark house. James didn't want to sleep, he was adamant, he still remembers crying the last time we were at the farmhouse. E and I decided that we didn't want him to be scared of going, and he was old enough now to miss a nap from time to time. He did surprisingly well.

After quite time and an ice cream treat with E's parents, we decided to take a little walk.
This time of year is just beautiful there.

Of course I was super excited to get some photos of Juliet in front of the barn doors, a farmhouse tradition. We took some photos of James in front of the same doors when he was three months old and  again and again. The last time being when I was hugely pregnant with Juliet.
I seriously can not get enough of her cute face and sweet as heck personality.
 Daddy and his girl.
Happy. Until next time.

Well, actually, we got the property in 1875, and that was when they lived in the cabin. Then, I think it must have been about 1900, the first part of the house was built. Then it was added to in 1927. But it's still old, and I am so happy my kids and grandkid love it as much as I do!
