Last night we celebrated. We celebrated 29 years of a person's life. We celebrated a really great father, son, brother and husband.
We met E's family for dinner at a fantastic Chinese restaurant, Asian Star. We ordered so many yummy things: pot stickers, walnut shrimp, schezwan beef, honey pork and the list goes on and on. James was happily passed from family member to family member, showing off his new little tooth buds and his happiest self.
We laughed and talked. And opened presents. And a few times when James decided to scream in the restaurant, I got up to show him the huge fish tanks.
Then we came over to our house. I put the baby to bed and we headed out to the patio for a fire, raspberry birthday pie, and more celebrating.
It was an awesome night.
Every year E's mom makes E a raspberry birthday pie. It is something I look forward to so much.
We all started on the patio enjoying the fire, but soon moved to the big cozy quilt on the lawn.
We had a blast. And are the power lines so artsy? I think so.
Blurry but good self portrait
The newlyweds leave for their honeymoon in a few weeks!
E playing with the fire as Steve looks on. And the darkening sky was stunning.
