Sleeping away from home with the babe has proven to be difficult. Quite difficult. James likes his room and his crib and won't have it any other way. Yikes.
So instead of staying the night at the farmhouse we went down for a day trip on Saturday. And with high hopes I tried to put James down for an afternoon nap down there, but alas, you remember what I said about only sleeping in his own crib? Yea, he'd have none of that...
(We booked a trip to NYC to visit my Grandma who is James's Great Grandma! Let's hope this child sleeps at some point during the week.)
Anyway, we had a very nice time at the farmhouse. The majority of the day was spent in the shade on the front porch where James played with his favorite person in the entire world, his daddy.
We also took a walk, ate a snow cone (which James adored!) and hung out with family. Love these summer days.
The boys played with blocks, a ball and watched the trucks go by from the porch.
It was a wonderfully relaxing way to spend the afternoon.
I could kiss this neck a hundred times, and do.
The Utah sky is amazing.
Can't you just see how much E loves the little guy? (And Joe's black dog Kody)
The boys love to wrestle.
E likes to put James on top of him and say "you've pinned me!" James grins from ear to ear.
The snow cones down in Mount Pleasant are to die for. They are an export from Hawaii and oh so yummy. E and I both always order bubblegum. James also got shaved ice with some fresh raspberry juice on top.
Takn' a walk with our new stroller. Can't wait to take this to NYC! It is so light.
Love the old fences down there. How old do you think this one is? 50 years? 100? And touching grass.
James can stand pretty well if we get him up. So here he checks out Mabel Pierson's home holding onto the fence. And touching a tree again.
the perfect end to summer

Adorable! And New Yorkers will appreciate that tiny stroller - you should see some of the triple-wide contraptions that people push around here on the Upper East Side!
ReplyDeleteWe're both excited for your visit and can't wait to meet baby J!
What about the "wee-see" visits?
