Thursday:
On Thursday, Mary (Joe's mom), decided to host a family BBQ so E's family and Joe's family could get to know each other better. I had met the ladies from the night before, but had yet to meet Joe's male friends and family.
We arrived at the hotel his family had reserved at dinner time and introduced ourselves, talked and played with the baby. Soon we decided to hop in the pool. After all, James needed to show off his awesome swimming skills!
James thrilled and wowed the crowd with his kicks, laughs and grins. This kid was born for the water.
We relaxed in the hot tub, got to know all of the people that Joe and Chelsea love so much, and played with a surprisingly happy baby.
Soon Bobby (Joe's brother-in-law) started up the grill and threw lobster tails and filet mignon on the hot steel. This is how to BBQ! We poured champagne and wine, ate amazing salads, and were delighted that James stayed mostly happy for two hours after his bedtime.
And every time Chelsea was reminded that in a mere two days she would be married, tears would come. I think she was excited!
Is this family photo not the most awesome? I think so.
James is a master swimmer.
Jen, Joe and Chelsea enjoy the pool deck.
Zack, Becky and Bobby (Joe's sibs) grill up the amazing bacon-wrapped steaks.
James's face cracks me up in the first photo. And Mary gave Chelsea a huge bottle of alcohol for pre-wedding jitters. Too funny!
